Experience

  1. Ray Tracing Software Engineer

    Intel Corporation

Explored new algorithms for physical based rendering:

    • Project lead and main developer of Intel’s Open Path Guiding Library
    • Development of an in-house SYCL-based real-time renderer that runs on Intel’s ARC GPUs, including a Hydra delegate to connect the renderer to the USD ecosystem (e.g., Houdini viewport)
    • Research and development of new algorithms for professional physical-based rendering (e.g., path guiding, volume rendering, importance sampling
    • Supervision of internal and external research collaborations (e.g., Charles University in Prague, KIT Karlsruhe, ETH Zurich)
    • Communicating with industry partners working in professional rendering to identify and work on open challenges in production.
  2. Research Assitand - Ph.D. Student

    University of Tübingen

Explored new algorithms for physical based rendering:

    • Complex light transport
    • Volume Rendering
    • Monte Carlo noise reconstruction
    • Real-time approximation for global illumination
  3. Research Internship

    Weta Digital
Implementation of a state-of-the-art volumetric light transport algorithm in the in-house rendering framework Manuka.
  4. Research Internship

    Charles University in Prague
Worked on volume importance sampling for the European DISTRO fabrication project.
  5. Research Assistant

    Media University Stuttgart
Collaboration with the “Media Solution Center” project to identify potential research projects in the field of rendering.
  6. Freelancer

    Pytha Radiolab
Implemented a global illumination viewer for Radiolab scenes for the iPad platform.
  7. Student Research Assistant

    University of Tübingen
Assisted researchers of the WSI/GRIS group. Focused on projects dealing with self-localization and 3D range scanners.
  8. Technical Programmer

Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics
Designed and implemented an unrestricted 3D eye tracking system for the BWFIT “Giga-Pixel” project. Developed texturing and morphing algorithms for a 3D face scanner.
  9. Tranee

    IBM Deutschland GmbH
Participated in different projects at the IBM research lab Böblingen. Final project and diploma thesis at the “Cell testing team”.
